Ernest Hemingway was a world traveler, consuming his passion for exploration and adventure, along with some good eats along the way. Cuba one day, Africa, France, Key West or Spain the next. And Idaho. Yes, Idaho.

The famed writer has inspired a line of gourmet goods a bit closer to home. Virginia Beach-based The Flavors of Ernest Hemingway offers taste buds a passport of tastes: The Bull Hot Sauce, The Islands Cocktail Sauce, The Hunt Grilling Sauce, The Sun Always Rises Bloody Mary Mix and The Tropical Sea Salt.

We’ve tried them all—and love them all. Especially the Bloody Mary mix.

The website has plenty of recipes for inspiration, including The Hemingway Bloody Mary: simple as pouring the mix and vodka (he did have a home in the spud state, after all) in a container with ice and shaking well. Rim a glass with a lemon or lime wedge and garnish with sea salt. Pour in the mix, and stick in a strip of crispy fried bacon. Oh, yeah.
